Ukrainians should have full access to leading medical and rehabilitation services without having to travel abroad. This was emphasized by Viktoriia Korsunova, head of the Kyiv office of Ukrainian Reconstruction Fund.
“Over the past year, we have seen many initiatives from the state, international partners and the private sector. Rehabilitation centers are being opened, but they are still not enough to cover all wounded or injured military and civilians with appropriate services. According to the Ministry of Social Policy, there are currently almost 3 million people with disabilities in Ukraine”, – says the head of the URF office.
According to Viktoriia Korsunova, the Ukrainian Reconstruction Fund sees one of its main tasks as promoting the development of a network of medical and rehabilitation facilities in Ukraine.
“And it is not only about construction, technical or specialized support. It’s about training specialists, who are also sorely lacking”, – she said.
Currently, the Fund’s specialists, together with partners, continue to develop a Program to support and develop medical and rehabilitation services for people affected by military aggression.
