During the war, Ukraine has been successfully implementing housing and social reconstruction projects and needs further support from international partners. This was emphasized by the founder of the Ukraine Reconstruction Fund, Pavlo Kostyuk.

According to him, the State Agency for the Restoration and Development of Infrastructure of Ukraine has already concluded contracts for more than UAH 3 billion as of the end of 2023, reducing the expected cost of work by UAH 260 million through transparent procurement.

We are talking about more than 250 facilities being rebuilt in the liberated territories.

“This is, of course, just the beginning. But based on its results, Ukraine’s ability to work honestly and transparently on such projects is being evaluated by international partners. They will decide on the provision of further assistance to rebuild infrastructure and the economy,” said Pavlo Kostyuk.

The founder of the URF reminded that, according to approximate data, more than 150 thousand residential buildings, more than 1200 medical institutions and more than 3000 educational institutions have been damaged or destroyed due to the war in Ukraine.

The frozen assets of Russia located abroad can play a decisive role in the reconstruction. Pavlo Kostyuk thanked the United States, which is preparing a bill to confiscate Russian funds in favor of Ukraine. According to him, a positive resolution of the issue will serve as a green signal to other countries that are still hesitating to take further action in this direction.
