Pavlo Kostyuk: The Olympics were a testament to the unwavering strength of the Ukrainian spirit

On August 11, the Summer Olympics ended in Paris, and our athletes were successful. Ukraine took 22nd place in the overall standings, winning three gold medals – the best result in the last 12 years.

The women’s fencing team – Olga Harlan, Alina Komashchuk, Yulia Bakastova and Olena Kravatska, high jumper Yaroslava Maguchykh and boxer Oleksandr Khyzhnyak – won the highest awards.

Silver medals were won by wrestlers Parviz Nasibov and Iryna Kolyadenko, shooter Serhiy Kulish, gymnast Ilya Kovtun, and the rowing team of Lyudmyla Luzan and Anastasiia Rybachok.

Wrestler Zhan Beleniuk, track and field athletes Iryna Herashchenko and Mykhailo Kokhan, and fencer Olha Harlan won bronze medals.

The founder of the Ukraine Reconstruction Fund, Pavlo Kostyuk, congratulated the Ukrainian athletes on their results and said:

“This success is a testament to the unwavering strength of the Ukrainian spirit and the ability of our athletes to achieve great heights, even in the most difficult times. We are proud of each of you and grateful that you continue to glorify Ukraine on the international stage.”

This Olympics is yet another proof that even in times of challenges and difficulties, Ukraine is able to withstand and win.
