Pavlo Kostyuk and New York City Mayor Eric Adams took part in the events dedicated to Ukraine’s Independence Day

On August 24, Manhattan, New York, hosted a ceremony of raising the Ukrainian flag to symbolize support for Ukraine in its fight against Russian aggression.

The yellow and blue flag was personally raised by Mayor Eric Adams, emphasizing the importance of New York’s support for Ukraine, which the city has been providing since the beginning of the full-scale war.

“We are raising this flag to declare that we will always support Ukraine in its struggle for freedom and independence,” said Eric Adams in his speech. He also emphasized that when we fight for the truth, victory is inevitable.

Pavlo Kostyuk, founder of the Ukraine Reconstruction Fund, commenting on the event, noted the importance of Independence Day for all Ukrainians, regardless of their place of residence.

“This is not just a holiday, it is a symbol of our indomitability, freedom and unity. Today we honor the strength of spirit of our people, who, despite all the challenges, keep faith in victory and a better future. Our independence is our common achievement that we will always defend,” said Pavlo Kostyuk.

The event was also attended by Andriy Dobriansky, Director of the Ukrainian Congress Committee of America’s New York Branch. Among those attending the ceremony were hundreds of Ukrainians who came together to celebrate this important holiday and express support for their country.

Independence Day celebrations took place across the United States, uniting Ukrainians in their common struggle for freedom and independence.
