116,000 residential buildings were destroyed or damaged in Ukraine as a result of hostilities. As of the beginning of June, such data are provided by the Ministry for Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine.

According to experts of the ministry, the total damage caused to the housing stock is about 100 billion hryvnias.

Currently, the Ministry for Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine is working on options for providing housing for people in need. Non-governmental organizations are also joining the process.

– We understand that the war continues, and the estimates published by the government are not final. But about 3.5 million Ukrainians are homeless, and they need help now. One of the activities of our foundation is aimed at solving this problem, – said the Head of the Charitable Foundation “Ukrainian Reconstruction Fund” Iryna Leshchynska.

Representatives of the Foundation are currently collecting and analyzing data on destroyed housing, infrastructure and social facilities in various regions of Ukraine.

– At the same time, we are establishing contacts with foreign donors in order to attract resources to restore the liberated territories and to provide comprehensive support to people who have suffered from Russian aggression, – Iryna Leshchynska said.
