More than 40 countries and around 20 international organisations took part in the international Ukraine Recovery Conference that was held in Lugano, Switzerland.
As a result, participants signed the declaration that ratify willingness to support Ukraine in the field of safety and defense as well as in the reconstruction of the housing, infrastructure and economics, which suffered as a result of the military aggression of the Russian Federation.
Ukraine’s reconstruction plan is already developed and was presented in Lugano by prime minister Denys Shmyhal. The document covers the financing of 850 projects. Currently, cost estimates are about 750 billion dollars, 65 billion of which is needed by Ukraine already this year.
– It is thought that talks about sums and projects are inappropriate during the war. In my opinion, it is a wrong statement, – said the Chair of the Charitable Foundation Iryna Leshchynska. – Before the funds are received, such projects go through a complex process that can take up to six months. Thus, current decisions will save us precious time in the future. I welcome the unanimous decision of the international community to support Ukraine in its fight and reconstruction.
