Providing housing for internally displaced citizens and humanitarian aid for the people who were impacted by the war is one of the fields of activities of the Ukrainian Reconstruction Fund.

Fund executives were resolving these problems in the Cherkasy region on the 11th of July.

23 thousand internally displaced citizens from multiple regions of Ukraine found shelter in Cherkasy. The city administration is looking for opportunities to provide people who left their homes with housing. Fund proposed its help in this.

– We consider a couple of buildings for renovation and equipment for the needs of migrants. As a result of the negotiation, Fund is ready to take an outlay for the inspection, engineering and repair works. I am grateful for this initiative and hope for a productive partnership, – the mayor of Cherkasy Anatolii Bondarenko said.

The adviser of the Fund, Viktor Leshchinskyi, and the mayor of Kaniv, Ihor Renkas.

Cooperation in the same direction was also arranged with the mayor of Kaniv Ihor Renkas.

– More than 4 thousand internally displaced citizens are registered in Kaniv currently. Hence, any help in solving the housing problems of migrants is very opportune and important, – Ihor Oleksandrovych said.

Chair of the Ukrainian Reconstruction Fund Iryna Leshchinska added that cooperation with Cherkasy region would not stop on this.

– We signed memorandums to strengthen our intentions. They open a wide opportunity for actions that were discussed between Fund’s counselor Viktor Leshchinskyi and mayors of Cherkasy and Kaniv. I am sure together we will complete a lot of successful projects, – she said.
