Today we are happy to introduce you to another artist, Petro Antyp (1959). Аrchitect, sculptor, painter, graphic artist, public figure.
From 1980-1984 he studied at the Department of Sculpture at the Penza Art School named after academician Savitsky. At the same time, he studied painting and graphics. From 1982–1986 he continued his studies at the sculpture workshops of V.Tsoi and O.Bem. Since 1988 he has been a member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine. Since 1990 – Fellow of the Union of Artists of the USSR.
Since 2009 – Honored Artist of Ukraine. Since 2014 he has been living and working in Kyiv.
Laureate of the International Sculpture Symposium «Medobory» in Ternopil (1990). Initiator, co-organizer, and participant of three international sculptural symposiums in Horlivka (1989), Donetsk («Ukrainian steppe-2006»), and Svyatogorsk («Ukrainian steppe-2007» ). Co-founder of the creative group «East» and the gallery «East-Art» in Horlivka (1989). Author of the project «Fountain of Life» in Zaporizhzhia (2005), which was included in the «History of Ukrainian Art» (vol. 5, 2007); fountain «Money Tree» in the Ozerne village, near Donetsk (2009); the monument to P. Gorlov (1999); co-author of monuments to T.Shevchenko in Horlivka and Dobropillya; to Academician M.Amosov at the Baykovo Cemetery in Kyiv (together with O.Dyachenko, 2003); to F.Yenakiyev (2010), poet S.Rudansky in Kalynivka, Vinnytsia region (2014); to outstanding Ukrainian composer and choral conductor M.Leontovych (2018) and T.Shevchenko (2019) in Pokrovsk, Donetsk region.
In 2016, together with the Italian architect R.Boatelli, Petro Antip won the tender for the project of reconstruction of Peace Square in Kramatorsk, Donetsk region. Petro Antyp’s works can be found in museums, and galleries (National Cultural, Art and Museum Complex «Art Arsenal», National Art Museum of Ukraine, Taras Shevchenko National Museum, Andriy Sheptytsky National Museum in Lviv, Donetsk Regional Art Museum, Vinnytsia Regional Art Museum, Horlivka Art Museum, Museum of Contemporary Ukrainian Art Korsakov) and private collections in Ukraine, USA, Great Britain, France, Germany, Italy, Sweden, and Russia. The masters’ paintings were purchased by the Union of Artists of the USSR and the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine.
7 documentaries have been made about the artist’s work. The name of Petro Antyp is included in the following publications: The catalog «View.
