Today we are happy to introduce you to another artist, Anatoliy Melnyk (1969). Нe uses watercolor and oil painting techniques.
During 1982 – 1985 Anatoliy Melnyk has been gaining the basics of art at an art school, mentored by Orest Zaborskyi. Later, from 1985 – 1989, he continued his studying at Kosiv Technical School of Folk Art Crafts named after Vasyl Kasiyan in the specialty of artistic processing of leather.
Marked by a large number of works of various thematic directions, the artist’s work confirms the opinion that at core he is a realist. The author’s choice of the relevant style is related to his personal vision and awareness of the surrounding world.
The artist has his own painting style and a range of favorite themes, his art is distinguished by the originality of artistic expression. Melnyk’s oil painting is light, not oversaturated with searches for excessively complex compositional improvisations. The author does not pursue the expressive tendencies of new-fashioned art, in which more and more often the «bare» emotion takes the foreground, rather than the reality, even if it is contradictory.
His works are mood-based, fresh, and lyrical. This lyricism is derived from the dominant goal, which is to promote the theme of the native land, the native city. The lion’s share of the artist’s attention is devoted to the landscape genre, he participated in numerous plein-airs. The artist’s gaze captures a variety of the subtlest shades and nuances of color.
He conveys the natural state of early morning, sunny afternoon, and foggy evening with amazing accuracy; perfectly captures his own impressions by observing and analyzing the world around him. Each work of the artist is an impression that the author wants to share with the audience, it is a conversation with the people he works for.
