The Minister of Finance of Ukraine Sergii Marchenko met with the U.S. Under Secretary of State for Management and Resources Richard Verma, who will soon become the U.S. Special Representative for Ukraine’s Economic Recovery.
Marchenko emphasized the key role of the United States in providing grant budget support to Ukraine, which currently amounts to about $26.8 billion.
Richard Verma confirmed the readiness of the United States to continue to actively participate in the process of economic recovery of Ukraine, noting that budget support for 2024 is provided in the amount of $ 7.8 billion, of which Ukraine has already received the first tranche of $ 3.9 billion.
“Large-scale US assistance is a crucial factor in ensuring the stability and development of our country. Thanks to this support, Ukraine is able to continue its path to recovery, providing its citizens with the necessary social and humanitarian services,” said Victoria Korsunova, Director of the Kyiv Office of the Ukraine Reconstruction Fund.
She emphasized the importance of further cooperation between Ukraine and the United States: “We must continue to develop our partnership with our international friends, especially the United States, because only by working together can we succeed in building a strong and independent Ukraine.”
The meeting was another confirmation of the strategic partnership between Ukraine and the United States in rebuilding the economy and infrastructure, which is extremely important for the country’s further development.
