The Ukraine Reconstruction Fund has repeatedly expressed concern about the environmental reconstruction of the country and emphasized the need for clear rules and recommendations for the “green recovery” of Ukraine.
Almost all sectors of the economy have suffered significant damage during the war, which requires a systematic approach to recovery based on environmentally friendly principles.
The URF experts once again emphasize the importance of developing specific proposals for the implementation of reconstruction projects in accordance with sustainable development standards. The proposals should cover energy efficiency, emissions reduction and adaptation of various sectors of the economy to climate challenges.
The URF notes that the “green” reconstruction of Ukraine should be an important step towards the country’s European integration. The introduction of environmental standards and innovative technologies used in the EU will allow Ukraine to create sustainable, resource-saving infrastructure facilities that can respond to global climate challenges and contribute to the restoration of ecosystems.
