COOPERATION WITH LEADING US COMPANIES WILL OPEN NEW OPPORTUNITIES FOR HIGH-TECH PRODUCTION FOR UKRAINE, AS WELL AS BRING MANAGEMENT AND SERVICE IN THE ENERGY SECTOR TO A MODERN LEVEL.

This opinion was expressed by the head of the Ukrainian Reconstruction Fund Pavlo Kostyuk, commenting on the statement of the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine about the interest of American investors in the projects of restoration of the Ukrainian energy industry.

The prospects of cooperation between Ukraine and the USA were discussed the other day by the First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine, Yuliya Svyridenko, the adviser to the US Secretary of State for Energy, Jeffrey Payette, and representatives of the largest American energy companies.

The Ukrainian side reported that in the next five years, it will focus on the creation of new generation capacities based on renewable energy, the creation of balancing capacities based on hydroelectric power plants, and also plans to develop maneuverable decentralized generation. Special attention will also be paid to energy storage projects and the development of nuclear power generation.

In turn, Jeffrey Payette confirmed the intentions of the US to support Ukraine, both during the war and in the period of post-war recovery. According to him, the American business should plan its participation in projects to restore the Ukrainian energy infrastructure today.

– We are talking about giant companies that have a significant share of the world market. Their cooperation with Ukraine means access to advanced technologies and ideas in production, energy distribution, and maintenance of production facilities. This is the driver that the country needs to ensure energy independence, – Pavlo Kostyuk emphasizes.

In particular, at the meeting, representatives of American companies assured of their readiness to support Ukraine’s energy sector. These companies include Baker Hughes, Bechtel, GE Vernona, Halliburton, Holtec, Invenergy, NuScale Power and Schneider Electric USA.
